Australia’s much maligned Omega-Pharma-Quickstep-bound-Rabobank-Come-Blanco-Come-Belkin sprinter, Mark Renshaw (aka Cav’s favourite pilot fish) snuck away at the perfect moment overnight to steal the thunder of Greipel and Kittel and take stage 1 of the Eneco Tour in Belgium. With a bunch kick seeming a certainty, Renshaw shot off the front on a corner with less than 2km to go. By the time the peloton figured out what was going on, he was away for a comfortable win and the race leader’s jersey. Chalk up another 2013 win to the Aussies. Sneaky bastards.
