Here’s to 28-year old French rider from Sojasun, Jonathan Hivert. The last rider to summit Ventoux on Sunday. He finished 50 minutes and 21 seconds behind Chris Froome. And, to put the world of pain he must have been in into its true perspective, nearly 18 minutes behind the second last rider on the stage, Euskstel Euskadi’s Juan Jose Lobato Del Valle. But he didn’t give up. He got there. And in my book that makes him a dead-set hard bastard. Chapeau!
