Today is June 28. But it might as well be December 24 for cycling fans across the globe. Tomorrow the Tour begins. The first 220km will be rolled in anger on the Isle of Corsica, as once more our circadian rythyms are turned on their head by the world’s most epic spectator event, for us Aussies anyway. Sure you could record the stages, impose a social media blackout and watch the action in the morning. Except, hang on, the morning is when we ride ourselves. So clearly that won’t work. No, the only choice is to STFU and watch it live – all three weeks of it. Besides, there are two rest days along the way to sleep like a normal human being.
NB. Just like a couple expecting their first child, the smarter ones amongst us have no doubt been banking as much sleep as possible in recent weeks anyway…
And my hols start, yipeee! First week live and uninterrupted
Good man. I have the last 2 weeks off work. Can’t wait.
