Race Across America 2013

If you haven’t heard of it, RAAM is one of the World’s toughest point-to-point endurance races. Taking riders virtually the entire width of North America, the first rider home wins. Given the race typically lasts well over a week this makes for some extremely brief sleeping arrangements. You snooze, you lose. Anyway, these riders are incredible and, yes, more than a little nuts.

The 2013 race is happening right now. Click the link to see the latest update…

  1. Are their any stats on cyclists and the incidence of diagnosed mental illness?
O’Bree the only one that readily comes to mind.

  2. there is a great book on Amazon.com about this race – read it – its crazy what these riders do to themselves …

  3. Why is it always depression? Can’t there be something like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, personality disorder, etc. Look out for each other out there, RU OK?
